IUI Process in Simple Steps

IUI is usually done in a normal clinic setting. These steps explain what happens from the first visit to insemination.

01

Initial Evaluation

Basic fertility tests for both partners to understand hormones, semen quality, and uterine health.

Planning Cycle

The doctor decides if natural ovulation or mild stimulation medicines are better for your IUI cycle.

02

Ovulation Tracking

Ultrasound scans and sometimes blood tests help track the growth of the egg and identify the ovulation day.

Trigger Shot (If Advised)

A small injection may be given to control and time ovulation so that IUI can be performed at the right moment.

03

Sperm Preparation

Semen sample is collected and processed in the lab to concentrate healthy and motile sperms.

Washed Sample

The final washed sample is safe, concentrated, and ready to be gently placed inside the uterus.

04

Insemination Procedure

A thin soft catheter passes through the cervix to deposit the prepared sperm in the uterus.

After IUI

Short rest, simple medicines if required, and a pregnancy test about two weeks later complete the cycle.

Who Can Benefit From IUI?

IUI is often a first line treatment option for couples with mild problems or timing related issues with natural conception.

  • Mild male factor infertility with slightly low count or motility
  • Unexplained infertility with normal basic reports
  • Cervical mucus problems or ejaculation difficulties
  • Couples who are not yet ready for IVF but want active treatment

What to Expect With IUI

IUI can be a gentle and hopeful first step. Success depends on age, egg and sperm quality, and how many cycles are tried.

Multiple Cycles May Be Needed

Many couples need more than one IUI cycle. Your doctor usually plans two to three cycles before changing the plan.

Less Invasive Procedure

The insemination itself is quick, usually painless, and does not require anesthesia or hospital admission.

Guided And Monitored Care

Monitoring, medicines, and timing are customized so that your IUI cycle is aligned with your natural biology.

Is IUI The Right Next Step For You?

If you have been trying for pregnancy for several months or years, IUI may offer a balanced option between natural planning and advanced treatments like IVF.

  • Review of previous reports and treatment history
  • Discussion of natural, IUI, and IVF options
  • Clear explanation of chances, cost, and next steps
IUI Consultation

“Sometimes a well timed and well prepared IUI is exactly the push your journey needs.”
